Football
Varsity Mustangs had their Senior Night last Friday night against the Placer Hillmen, losing the game 56-14. Robert Dotson had the high number for total rushing yards
(136), and also had the long, being an 85-yard break. Quarterback David Sanders had the two touchdowns for the Mustangs. Photo by Ariana Birondo.
Cross Country
Cross Country had Sub-Sections on Saturday at Angels Camp. Due to SATs varsity girls runners Amber Anderson, and Jeanette Torres were unable to compete in the race. More problems occurred as junior captain Shane Voll, and Joshua Lee accidently ran in the Division 4 and 5 varsity race, and their times were discarded. Senior captain Jake Larson was also unable to attend the meet. A notable mention is Leo Ochoa, a first year runner who came closest to Sections time, being only 20 seconds off.
Soccer
Placing second in the PVL, the Varsity Mustangs faced off against the Natomas Nighthawks, losing in double overtime. The final score for the game was 3-2 and with this loss their season ends.
Volleyball
Volleyball lost last Wednesday's game against Placer Hillmen. The end score for the game was 3-0. With that, the season ends for the Lady Mustangs.
Winter Sports Preview
With the end of the fall season, the Mustangs ready themselves for the coming winter sports season. All the hard work from last season pays off by keeping them in shape, as basketball and wrestling take center stage.
Basketball
Basketball began conditioning about a month ago, and the preseason started on Monday for them. They will continue to keep training hard in preparation for their first game on November 28.
Wrestling
Wrestling has been conditioning the past couple months, and the preseason officially started on Monday. With the Wrestlers practicing hard, aiming to meet their weight goals for next Saturday, and preparing to earn their spot on varsity, a lot is going on. With the first tournament less than a month away, the intensity will only increase.
