The libraries at schools should be treated with respect. Sometimes students leave food; and it makes a mess that attracts ants and mice. Some students don't push in their chairs. The school libraries have a budget, which could be possibly $3,000. That may sound like a lot of money, but it isn't, when the librarians need more ink for the printers. Ink is not cheap; some types of ink can cost $160. The librarians need to take possibility $1,000 out of the library's budget to buy more ink. The budget started with $3,000, now the librarian has $2,000 because they bought more ink. Some books, like fiction, cost $20 to $30 and non-fiction books cost $50 to $100.
The librarian is limited in buying books because of the budget. And because of that, unfortunately, the librarian can not buy all of the books or comics series. Also the librarian needs to pay for books or equipment that have been broken or damaged purposely.
When you check out a book there's sometimes a book scanner that's at the entrance/exit.
If not scanned, the book scanner will go off when you're leaving through the exit. There's a bar code on the back or front of the books. If you borrow a book, and you let someone borrow it and it gets damaged, you will pay for it. That person, unfortunately, will not pay for it because the book is checked out under your name.
