The blood drive at Foothill High School is a very organized process and a very enjoyable experience.
The people who work the event have it set up so that all those giving blood can take pleasure in it. The nurses are very kind and some are funny. The first time I went to give blood the lady called my vein, "The Gusher," because I have a really big vein that is easy to see. The blood that is given, if accepted by BloodSource, a California Blood Bank, is used to help people who need blood transfusions.
The most recent blood drive didn't have that many people. Then again, the event was not advertised enough the week before and the week of the event, compared to previous drives at FHS. Throughout the blood drive I've only known about two people that have fainted during this process.
"Last time I did it I passed out and it freaked out the nurses," said Anastasia Klyushnik, "but I'm glad I at least tried."
The blood drive is a great way to help those in dire need of blood. The next time there's a blood drive at FHS, everyone should consider donating.
