Carmen Bowen is our new Algebra 1, Geometry, and World History teacher here at Foothill. Bowen has been teaching for over 20 years, her second year teaching in the Twin Rivers School District. She taught at Rio Linda High School last year.
Bowen chose to work in the oil industry as a geologist for five years.
“I loved it, and I decided to stay in the education business,” Bowen states. “It is challenging, it is never boring, and I do know for a fact that we, teachers, make a difference in our students’ lives.”
Bowen was in college for over 12 years to achieve two bachelor degrees and a master’s degree in education at Sacramento State University.
Bowen is happy to be a part of the Foothill High Family.
“I am looking forward to working with the staff and faculty members to make this a fruitful year for our students,” she said.
Look for interviews with the third of three new teachers at FHS this year, Josiah Aston, coming soon.
