Foothill High school's choir went to Downtown Plaza On Friday, December 6 to perform for holiday shoppers. FHS music teacher Josiah Aston led the singers in performing a handful of Christmas classics.

There were about 20 students and that included a few eighth graders as well. Aston was in charge of what songs the students sang and when they sang them. Some of the songs that they had sung were "Jingle Bells," "Let it Snow," and "Feliz Navidad."

Aston said "Feliz Navidad" was a total surprise to the students.

"I had just brought out a kazoo and sang the trumpet parts with them," Aston said. His favorite song was "Oh Holy Night" because this song is a beautiful piece and the students sang it in a three-part harmony.

The reason why they sang in Downtown Plaza was to make a fun experience for the students. It was a great way for them to sing holiday carols and great entertainment for the family members as well as the bystanders.

One of the students that went to Downtown Plaza was Michaela Weber. Her favorite part about singing at Downtown Plaza was when her friends and she sang, it put people in good moods.

"It was like a verbal Christmas present," Weber said. "I like to sing—and do—whenever I get the chance. It's a love for me." Her favorite song to sing was "Silver Bells."

Downtown Plaza was overall a success. All of the bystanders looked pleased. It was also just in time for the holidays.
