After Allen Berg left at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, Yvonne Bach was very happy to assist us by joining the science department at Foothill High School. She is a science teacher who is instructing one class of Honors Biology and four Earth Science classes.
Bach came from Cache Creek High School in the Woodland Unified School District, where she worked for one year. Before that, she was working at Riverside High School in Pittsburg Unified School District, for two years.
Bach’s goal for the year is to teach the kids in her classes about science and make Earth Science an A-G college course requirement. Her other goals are to make sure every student has fun and enjoys taking science and to avoid having fights in her class all school year.
According to a couple of students, Ja-Auna E. Clark and Janelle Foster, she is a really fun teacher to have, she tells her funny science jokes, and she also loves talking about her bacteria. She finds a way to make an example of bacteria in various topics.
Her favorite quote is from Vincent Van Gogh: “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” This quote can make sense in many aspects. For example, it takes many small things combined together to make life. It also takes many students and staff members to make our school. So stop by Bach's classroom and meet one of the new members of our school.
