Ashley Kelly is our brand new world history and AVID teacher here at Foothill High School. She is also the cheerleading coach. She wanted to teach world history because she believes that everybody should know about their history. Most importantly, Kelly wants students to be prepared for college.
This is her first year as a teacher. Kelly is from Buffalo, New York and was raised in Fairfield. She went to Angelo Rodriguez High School in Fairfield. She went to college at UC San Diego.
Kelly wanted to teach here because she wanted to help the community she lived in. She has a lot of family that lives here so she thought it was a good opportunity to stay in Sacramento. She got her teaching credential at Sacramento state.
She wanted to coach cheerleading because she was a cheerleader growing up.
“Cheerleaders do a lot for this school and they need to be recognized for it,” said Kelly.
In her free time she likes to work out and do yoga.
So if you walk by S-8, make sure you say hello to our world history teacher, AVID teacher, and cheerleading coach, Ashley Kelly.
