Our school’s library only gets $2,763 dollars every year for new books. That may seem like a lot but that’s only about 100 new books. Maybe 100 books seems like a lot but each year books are lost, damaged, or become outdated and need to be replaced.
Our school library is accepting donations of new or used books any time the library is open.
“The students should think they’re appropriate for high school,” says Joanne Ligamari, the teacher librarian at FHS. “The books they don’t want and I don’t find appropriate can be taken to the used book store for credit.”
Store credit at used book stores can be used to buy books that are missing in a series or requested by students. The money students pay to print paper in the library is also used to buy new books.
Everyone benefits from having a well-stocked school library, so if you have any old books you want to get rid of, drop them off at the FHS press library to help out our school.
