For the first time, Foothill High School had an awards night for all of the fall sports at the same time. Volleyball, football, and cross-country usually have their own banquet, but this year all three sports gathered in the cafeteria on December 2.
The cafeteria was packed with athletes and their families.
“It was my first one. I like all the people because then everyone can see everyone else’s awards,” said Alyssa Taylor, a FHS sophomore and former cross-country runner, “it wasn’t overcrowded but there was a fair amount of people.”
It was great having more people to celebrate with in the cafeteria, but each sport had less time to talk about each player.
“I think that the coaches should have more time to talk about each player,” said Taylor.
Each sport had less time to honor their athletes because there were so many; there was no time to tell the audience about each member of the team.
Our cross-country team hosted their own small banquet in C-3 on December 8 to finish passing out awards and look at pictures from the season.
Even though each sport had to compromise by having less time to themselves, it was amazing to see so many student-athletes and supporters at the same time.
