On Friday August 26, 2016, new additions were added to the Foothill High School library, due to the connection of librarian Joanne Ligamari.
At a Literature Conference that Ligamari attends once a year, she met the prestigious Dr. Claudette S. McLinn, who is the executive director of the Center for the Study of Multicultural Children’s Literature. McLinn generously donated 23 new hardback books to the FHS Library. These books were donated due to the overstock that McLinn had at her center. McLinn emailed Ligamari to ask her if the library would like to have an addition of new books. Ligamari of course said, “Yes”, and within a couple days, the books had arrived.
“Dr. McLinn is an angel to send Foothill 23 brand new hardback books. She is wonderful. I can’t thank her enough,” said Ligamari.
The books cover a variety of genres and were donated free. Remember that hardback books cost around $20 a piece. Who wouldn’t consider McLinn an angel?
Ligamari and the library thank McLinn for this wonderful addition to the FHS Library.
