CONGRATS to our varsity girls’ basketball team who's record is 20 - 2 since the start of their season. The team’s effort, growth, and dedication have shone brightly through their success. The players’ response to their accomplishment was humble, still they have a hunger for more because the season is yet to be over!
The one to be proud the most is Coach Meshal McCauley, who has inspired the girls’ basketball team to do so well. Wanting the team to push themselves, she shared her achievements of when she was a basketball player in Grant Union High. In the past, her team won state championships and the banner that hangs in the Grant Union gym is proof for that.
“I think it’s going to be a prosperous year” said McCauley.
To have gotten to where they’re at, the girls’ basketball team has been training since last summer through loads of running. They improve their skills through daily practice and commitment. Their motto is 'TO GET BETTER'.
Their strength lies in playing together as a team; and staying focused on playing one game at a time. And the most important thing is:
“When we get together, we have fun while playing” said Moesha Dunson, a FHS senior.
