This is a series of biographies of prominant figures in American Black History. Keep checking back for new stories throughout this month.

February is Black History Month and fhspress.com will be posting a special series of stories honoring different African Americans.
Each student in the journalism class has chosen a figure in African American history to write a short story featuring little-known trivia. Each student will also create a photo montage for the person.
We will be featuring influential politicians, athletes, musicians, celebrities, inventors, writers, and social activists. We have tried to find figures who are not as well-known but are an important part of history nonetheless.
Of the more well-known individuals, our journalists have worked hard to find lesser-known information about her/him. Each story will have sources cited at the bottom if you would like to find more information about the individual.
